You can claim back 25 per cent back on food and drink. This can include alcohol, but only if it is combined with dine-in food purchases.

The rebate is available at hospitality businesses such as restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs across Victoria. It excludes hospitality businesses located in the City of Melbourne municipality.

3. Can I submit claims under the Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program and Midweek Melbourne Money?

Yes. You can submit separate claims for eligible purchases over $40 (including GST) for each program, for a maximum rebate of $125 under each program. The two programs are run separately.

For example, you can submit a claim for a dining experience at a restaurant in Melbourne CBD under Midweek Melbourne Money, and submit a claim for a dining experience at a winery in regional Victoria under the Dining stream of the Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program.

4. How do I know if the hospitality business I’ve attended is eligible under the Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program or Midweek Melbourne Money?

It covers food and beverage purchases at hospitality businesses in the City of Melbourne municipality only, while the Victorian Dining Program covers food and beverage purchases at hospitality businesses across Victoria, excluding the City of Melbourne municipality.

5. Does it include takeaway food?

You can claim your 25 per cent back on takeaway ordered Monday to Thursday, but you must collect it in-venue and you must spend a minimum of $40 per order (including GST). You cannot make a claim on food ordered through home delivery companies such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, Providoor and Deliveroo or delivered directly by the venue.

6. Can I claim the deposit I paid for my dining package or to reserve a table?

No, receipts for deposits or table reservations are not eligible. Only an itemised dining receipt will be accepted.

7. If a bill is shared between individuals, can each individual separately claim the same receipt?
